The word 'Dela' means humble and content. This is the attitude with which we conduct our safaris, where we strive to give you the most comfortable and enjoyable experience possible! Come and join us on adventurous and unforgettable African safari experiences in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and / or Mozambique! We offer private mobile safaris with a maximum of two vehicles of 1 to 6 people (one family or group of friends) in selected National Parks. We however conduct simple shorter safaris (2 to 5 nights) as well from O.R. Tambo Int. Airport and back. Our longer adventures (10 to 20 day) are the most popular and we easily create the most exciting itineraries which suite your requirements.

With a mobile safari, you stay in a different location throughout the tour. We stay in large canvas dome tents surrounded by wildlife and the open skies. Then after experiencing the highlights of the area, we carry on safari to the next destination. Although the general experience is perfectly balanced between having time for relaxation, excitement and adventure. Itineraries are carefully put together so that you can enjoy great game viewing as well as getting enough rest at the beautiful destinations on route. The benefits of traveling in one group not only adheres to safety protocols for leisure travel, it also means that you have the flexibility of doing more of the things you as a group prefer to do the most during the guided tour. Be it doing longer game drives, going on additional night drives, do a boat cruise or rather enjoying a cold beer at camp with an elephant for company. Nonetheless, we are here to guide you, cook delicious South African meals for you, keep you comfortable, let you enjoy your own privacy in the bush and most importantly to share the diverse and majestic wildlife that Africa is so well known for. Although we allow you to enjoy the tour in your own way, through experiencing the rewarding freedom you get from being in the secret and most beautiful wilderness areas we would love to show you.

Greetings! I am Hardie van Tonder your main guide. I started Dela Safaris in 2019 following my career as wildlife manager, game ranger and tour guide. I am passionate about all things wild, although most of all want you to go home with only the best memories of Africa possible. "Dela" means humble and content and this is the attitude with how I conduct my safaris. Through respecting nature, spreading the word and need for improved conservation, we take you on a guided journey to appreciate all that Africa has to offer. Our passion is to share the rich animal and plant diversity of especially Kruger National Park in South Africa and to explain why tourism and conservation is so important for African Parks and surrounding communities.
